 Roger joined Watermark as a Principal in 2004 and brings to the firm over 20 years experience in the patent and trade mark profession in Europe and Australia with boutique patent attorney firms and a large corporate law firm. After graduating with an honours degree in Physics, Roger joined a provincial firm of UK Patent Attorneys and qualified as a UK Registered Patent Attorney in 1985 and a European Patent Attorney in 1986.

Roger moved to Australia in 1989 to join a firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys in Melbourne. He qualified as an Australian Registered Patent Attorney in 1991 and subsequently became a partner in 1995.

Roger has extensive experience in filing and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and foreign countries for a wide variety of inventions in the mechanical, electrical and electronic fields. He has assisted clients in managing large overseas intellectual property portfolios. Roger is also experienced in patent and trade mark oppositions and in the protection of industrial designs. His particular fields of interest include optical security devices and gaming technology.
